Red Skies At Night!

Unfortunately the red skies are in the morning therefore they are Shepherd's warning. And they were appropriately coloured. i took the photo at about 6am from Mum's window in Durham.
I have been back for a day or so now and I'm getting ready to sleep.
One of the outings I really enjoyed was to a pub in Bedfordshire called the Black Horse. My mother, sister and I ordered the "Assiette" with three spoons for dessert. The creme brulee was decorated with, what I have later found out to be, a Physalis or Cape Gooseberry.

I was reluctant to taste it because it looked like a decoration with its papery leaves drawn back. It did, however, taste really lovely. A cross between a citrus /apricot flavour and a texture similar to a hard gooseberry/cherry. I thought I had a picure to go with this but it seems to have disappeared.
Tomorrow I shall post news of the knitting and particularly the tea cosy.
Cheers to all
Gillian

  • What a beautiful sky! It would make a lovely colorway for socks.
