Enough Socks for a While
I am sitting in the public library in Durham with my laptop plugged in to their power supply and my wireless stick picking up their internet access. It is warm and friendly and there is no time limit to use of the space so I shall be back.
It is only a very short walk from a flat which a friend of my mother's is letting me have for a very low rent. It is furnished and has one bedroom and is very comfortable. I am praying daily, though, that my house will sell soon in Australia so that I can get a place of my own here and have some of my own things around me. I feel very much "in limbo" still.
I'm hoping that blogging will help me to feel that I'm getting back to normal. Thankyou all for your kind thoughts and comments. I shall try to do a little news every now and then and let you know how I settle in.
I have knitted six and a half pairs of socks and am having a break by knitting a cotton top for myself.
Cheerio for now Gillian

So pleased to see you back! Good luck with selling the house. I've been thinking of you often (saw the death and funeral notices in the paper) and wondering how you were.

Hi Gillian
I too am so pleased to see you back and finally feeling up to blogging again. I have been checking in daily and thinking of you often, especially with the jam making I have been doing. :)
I am sure it won't be long before you can have your own space again. It is hard with all the changes etc over the past few months to feel settled anywhere but with time that will come. Just be gentle and take small steps and you will be there before you know it.
Once again great to see you back.
Cheers Beverley [ Who must really get around to posting again soon as well. ]

Welcome back Gillian. SO relieved that you are okay! Blogging will help you get back on track, it is a nice way to have 'friends' that don't expect anything from you but an update here and there. I will keep my fingers crossed that your house will sell, and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Good to hear from you Gillian. I saw your house in the paper this week, so I hope the open house does get a buyer for you. I cant wait until you can buy your own place and start blogging again on a regular basis. I do miss reading your little adventures. Hope to hear from you soon.

Gillian, it's great to see you back. Hope all goes well (and quickly) with the selling of the house. I can understand your need for a break from the sock knitting too! 6 and a half pairs? Well done.

So glad to see you are back blogging. My thoughts are with you and I do hope everything goes very well for you. That is a lot of socks you have done, and cotton, wow that means summer over there, we are getting some pretty cool weather (early I know) but it is really nice.
