A Spell in Dorset

I'm now safely at my sister's and have enjoyed a great xmas. I have access to a computer but at the moment I still don't feel like doing much blogging. I hope to get a council flat in Durham near my mother and when I have settled in I will be able to do what I want when I want. I'm looking forward to that very much. My family have all been wonderful but I can't wait to be able to make all my own decisions, eat what I want when I want and go out when I like. Most of all, I will be able to have visitors and friends. These are all things that have been difficult with a possessive and drunk husband.
I haven't heard anything about him or from him since I left Australia and am torn between needing to know he's alright and not wanting to contact him in case I get another barrage of verbal abuse. Time, distance and family are all helping me and I just hope someone is helping him as much.
Cheers for now Gillian

  • I am so happy to hear that you've arrived in England safely. Considering how much of your life was shared with your husband for so many years you are doing amazingly well. Don't blog if you don't feel like it though. It's not an obligation and nobody will think ill of you for working on settling in rather than entertaining us. I have been thinking of you though and even if posts are few and far between I will still post comments to check up on you from time to time. Hopefully you'll find a perfect flat near your Mum. Hugs.

  • So pleased to hear from you and that you are doing so well considering all you have been through. I too find it difficult at times to post so don't worry about it. In fact if you prefer just send me an email direct. I am still reading all the blogs I normally do at the moment but am not posting much. Hope to get back into it in the New Year.

So this comes with lots of hugs for a special New Year, a new start, a bit scary but a positive move.

I think of you every day. Can't help not too when I have my toast and marmalade! : )

    Hugs

  • I hope you find a wonderful flat near your mum's house. You will be like a new woman soon, having friends to visit and being able to do what you want when you want to. I am glad that you are feeling better, and that you are blogging again. At least then we know you are on the road to recovery which I am sure will take a long while, but at least you will have your life back and you can do what you want to do. Sending you lots of hugs and wishing you a wonderful New Year too.

  • I am glad you are okay. Family and friends are the best thing at any time - you are lucky to have your around you. Good luck with your new found independence, and make sure you make 07 about you and your needs.

  • It's so good to hear from you. I'm glad you are making progress. I hope the search for a new abode goes well. Maybe you can find a knitting group near where you want to live.

  • Glad things are going well for you now - be good to get a place of your own, too. Thought of you on Boxing Day as I made 4 batches of plum jam; the blood plums are ready and although small are flavoursome.

  • It is nice to hear from your again. Look after yourself. It sounds wonderful to be able to do what you want and eat what you want and to do it all when you want. Tempting, but scary. Good luck with it all. I guess you are planning on staying in England now?
